New Funny Movies

Are you looking for some new funny movies to make you laugh and take the edge off the daily grind? If so, I've put together a list of six films from 2010, all guaranteed to tickle your funny bone. Pop one of these into your DVD or Blu-ray player, and you'll soon forget about all your responsibilities back in the real world.

Death at a Funeral - A remake of the 2007 British film, Death at a Funeral centres on two brothers (Martin Lawrence and Chris Rock) dealing with the death of their father. A whole cast of eccentrics show up for the funeral, including a guy (James Marsden) who accidentally took a hallucinogenic drug. But the topper is when a little person (Peter Dinklage reprising his role from the original) shows up, claims to be the secret lover of the deceased, and then tries to blackmail the family. The all-star cast includes Tracy Morgan, Danny Glover, Luke Wilson, Keith David, Zoe Saldana, and Regina Hall.

Date Night - Steve Carrel and Tina Fey are a boring married couple who leave the suburbs and head into the city for a night out together. When they steal a no-show couple's reservation at a restaurant, they soon find themselves held at gunpoint due to a case of mistaken identity. With nowhere else to turn, they seek help from a frequently shirtless security consultant (Mark Wahlberg) and slowly piece together a conspiracy involving a city official and a local crime boss. James Franco and Mila Kunis are outstanding in their brief appearance as a trashy and totally-in-love couple.

Lottery Ticket - After he wins the lottery, a young man (Bow Wow) must wait until after the July 4th weekend to claim his money. But when his neighbours find out, he's forced to dodge everything from physical violence to seduction in order to keep his winning ticket worth $370 million. Also starring Ice Cube, Keith David, Nature Naught on, Terry Crews, and Mike Epps.

Despicable Me - In this computer-animated tale, Steve Carell provides the voice of Gru, a supervillain who's seen his better days. Resolving to steal the Moon, he gets three orphan girls to help him with his scheme. But something happens along the way, and the former bad guy finds himself growing attached to the adorable tots. Also featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Julie Andrews, Russell Brand, and Jason Segal.

It's Kind of a Funny Story - After considering suicide, a 16-year-old kid (Keir Gilchrist) checks himself into a hospital for a one-week stay. While coming to grips with his fears and anxieties, he grows close to a number of patients, including a stressed-out father (Zach Galifianakis) and a teenager with a penchant for self-mutilation (Emma Roberts). While it may not sound like it, the film does a fine job of mixing serious subject matter with laugh-out-loud comedy.

Jackass 3D - Based on the popular MTV series starring Johnny Knoxville, this gross-out comedy begins with an introduction from Beavis and Butt-head, so you know it's got to be good. The entire cast from the previous films returns, and they brave side-splitting pranks and stunts such as playing tether ball with an active beehive, using super glue to take off chest hair, pulling out a tooth with a Lamborghini, and launching Steve-O into the air inside a full port-a-potty. You may feel the urge to vomit at several points throughout the film, but fans of the series should eagerly come back for another helping of irreverent humour.

Top 10 Romantic Movies of Hollywood

Movies have always created an aura of magic and charm in the world of dream. A larger than life portrayal of characters, which make deep impressions in the sensitive minds of film lovers, remain forever. Hundreds of films are being made every year. But only a few movies can create that magic spell on its viewers. These dreams which are gracefully created on the silver screen, make a permanent place in the hearts of millions of movie lovers.

It is very hard for anyone to select the top10 romantic movies of a lifetime. Since every good romantic film has its own charm and delicacy. Even then, there are very few films, which never loose its charm even with age.

One film like that has to be" Roman Holiday" which starred Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. A glamorously created movie set in Rome. It is the tale of a beautiful princess who is bored with her daily routine of grandeur and opulence. So she sets off for a quick look at the regular life of ordinary people and ends up at the quaint little apartment of Gregory Peck who happens to be a journalist. Thus the romance starts between the princess and the pauper. The dramatic and yet unhappy ending of this film makes it immortal in its genre.

A second film in the romantic category has got be "Anastasia" starring Yule Breyner and Grace Kelly. Though a Russian folk tale, the film was adapted and created esthetically in the backdrop of Russia. It is the ultimate dream made visible on the celluloid. The fantasy and fairy tale romance between gorgeous Grace Kelly and tough Yule Breyner makes this film an evergreen tale of romance.

At third place there is "Walk In The Clouds", which stars Keanu Reeves and Aitana Sanchez-Gijon. Shot in northern California the film narrates a very mushy love between two strangers in the beautiful intoxicating vineyards of northern California.

Fourth, a film that comes to mind is a different kind of a love story, which is named "Ghost" starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. The name says it is not a love between two mortal human beings but between a wife and her dead husband, who loves his lovely wife so dearly that even after his death he protects her from every possible danger. Then comes Whoopi Goldberg whose character becomes immortal as ever. She even won her first Oscar for this role. Did I miss to say that Ghost was her first film?

Fifth, "Pearl Harbor" takes its place in the list of top 10 movies. This movie is set in the backdrop of the second world war and the notorious destruction caused by the Japanese on the Pearl Harbor. Kate Bekinsale and Ben Afflek looked like a twosome in this film. It is a real love story in the time of distress. The cinematography was excellent as were the songs, which were sung by Faith Hill.

Sixth comes "Titanic", an all time favorite of everyone. The famous song sung by Celine Dion has made a permanent place in the hearts of millions.

Seventh comes "When Harry met Sally", a fun movie to watch. Meg Ryan is marvelous in this movie. A romantic comedy in genre, this film is a delight to watch.

Eighth, it is "Pretty Woman" a heart-warming movie with all the commercial ingredients. The star cast is the main attraction of this movie.

Ninth, it is '"You've Got Mail" starring the evergreen pair Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. This film is a first of its kind.

And lastly it is none other than "Splash", which is again a very unusual love story between a mermaid played by swimmer Daryll Hannah and a small time employee characterized by Tom Hanks.

A staple addition to on-screen rides, the Chevrolet Chevelle SS is also featured in a lot of movies such as Bad Boys 2, War, Speed Demon, and Remember the Titans.

Being featured in a lot of Hollywood movies has gotten the interest of a lot of car lovers for the Chevrolet Chevelle SS. The history of this classic car, the Chevrolet Chevelle SS, dates back to 1964-65. At this time, this classic car was introduced as Chevrolet's entry into the mid-size muscle car battle. Its rivals included General Motors' Oldsmobile Cutlass 442, Pontiac Tempest GTO, and the Buick Skylark Gran Sport. Muscle cars were never really regarded as sports cars because they were larger and cheaper. These were the rides that were made for the streets and that racing was not only its nature. Muscle cars then were defined as fast small cars that had big engines. Muscle cars were built for street-line speed and does not have the lithe appearance, engineering integrity and sophisticated chassis present in European high performance cars.

The Chevrolet Chevelle at the beginning only had 327 V8 and the 396 V8 for its engines but it then had the most powerful rated engine among muscle cars when it sported the LS6 454 engine in 1970. It is one of the fastest being rated number 9 at Muscle cars list of the fastest muscle cars.

Most Anticipated Movies of 2011

2011 is a year worth looking forward to as many action-packed movies that have been anticipated would be screened at this year. As a result, I have put together a list of the top 3 anticipated movies of 2011.

With high expectations of previous series viewers, Transformers 3 is definitely one of the anticipated movies of 2011. However, many speculate over the possibility of a rather less heated movie as a result of the very much shocking replacement of the show's top attraction - Megan Fox. Before landing the leading role along Shia Labeouf in Transformers, no one knew who Megan fox was. Director Michael Bay was the one who gave her the chance of a lifetime. Thus, when there was dispute between them, many blamed Megan Fox for forgetting who had helped her gain her current status. Since then, Michael Bay has given the role to Victoria Secret model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Rosie, who is 23 years old, has no acting experience except for her job on the fashion show runway. As for the movie plot, the deceptions are back to avenge their previous defeat. Thus, once again, the autobots led by Optimus Prime are back to defend Earth. It would be released on July 1st, 2011.

Next, there's Fast and Furious 5 directed by Justin Lin, mainly starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker in the action, thriller movie set out to catch the hearts of many on April. The movie follows the main stars as they are forced to finish one last job in order to gain their freedom. However, federal agent Luke Hobbs, played by Dwayne Johnson is hot on their tail.

Last but not least, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is a movie that is not only being anticipated by kids, but people of all ages as well. The main stars are the same as the previous ones, which are Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. The movie depicts how the trio continued their search for Voldemort's horcruxes and set out to destroy them. This movie would be released on July 2011.

The Fast and the Furious:Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel was born on July 18, 1967 and was originally called Mark Sinclair Vincent and is an actor, writer, director and producer. He also has a twin brother, a younger brother and a sister. Diesel first started to become known in the early 2000s for his roles in the incredibly successful The Fast and the Furious and xXx. A little know fact about Vin Diesel is that he has founded 3 production companies which are One Race Films, Tigon Studios and Racetrack Records.

Vin was born in New York City to his mother Delora but he has never met his biological father. He was raised by his stepfather who was an acting instructor and theatre manager.

He first became involved in the theatre in an unusual way. He an some friends broke into Theatre for New City's space on Jane street with the intention of vandalising it. When they entered the building to their surprise they were met by the Theatre's Artistic Director who enrolled them into an upcoming show rather than calling the police. From that point on Diesel has had an active role in the Theatre and entertainment.

He changed his name whilst he was working as a bouncer at a New York City nightclub because the true identity of a bouncer is never given out to the public. The 'Vin' part of his name is simply a shortening of his surname whereas the Diesel part was given by his friends who said he ran off Diesel because of his non-stop energy.

Diesel has a daughter with his model girlfriend Paloma Jimenez who was born on April 2, 2008. Vin says that although the majority of his roles are as a hard man in reality when it comes to his daughter there is definitely a softer side.

Fast and Furious

When Universal launched the Fast and the Furious series of street racing films, they only expected only a modest return. Although street racing was getting a lot of press attention and the popularity of modified imports were exploding, the movies was never expected to be a blockbuster. However, the film was an unexpected summer hit. It grossed $40,089,015 on its opening weekend, surpassing the film's $38 million budget. It may have been the media buzz and gear head buzz surrounding the movies that caused an explosion in the box office and gave global insight and curiosity into the supercharged social scene of racing and customizing cars.

Two of the films' stars that caused the movies to thunder in the box office, were the Mazda RX7 and the Mitsubishi Eclipse. One of Japan's largest automotive aftermarket companies, Veilside, built the Mazda RX7 that was later filmed in Fast and Furious to show off its "Fortune" wide-body kit at the 2005 Tokyo Auto Salon. At the time of the show, the car was painted red, and it had everything a show car should - an HKS T04Z single-turbo conversion kit, a massive intercooler shoved under the front bumper, big Rotora brakes, A'PEXi coil-over shocks and vast 19-inch Andrew Evo-V wheels inside P255/30ZR19 front and P305/25ZR19 rear Toyo Proxes radials.

For the Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the same Mazda RX7 was painted Sunset Orange Pearl and Veilside built three more visual clones, including one that was destined for destruction using a previous Mazda RX7 that had appeared in both previous Fast and Furious movies. One of the cars used in the previous Fast and Furious movie was Dominic Toretto's red RX.

In the sequel to the Fast & Furious, 2 Fast, 2 Furious, the character Roman Pierce was given a new partner in his adventure, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder with a Snyper Body Kit. The car was personally picked by John Singleton for Pierce to drive and the car came equipped with a Vortech Supercharger V5 G trim, HKS Blow valve, HKS AFR (fuel management controller), RC engineering 270cc injectors, Boost Variant Fuel Pressure Regulator with Gauge and a Magnecor 8.5mil Competition wires and a license plate that said "H8TER."

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder had the most elaborate paint job of any of the cars built for any of the Fast & Furious movies. The patchwork design on the car were not graphics but painted on with House of Kolors paint. It was one of the few cars in the film that wasn't destroyed although a total of four were made for the filming. It is rumored that the car exhaust was swapped with a Subaru WRX.

Like all cars in the Fast & Furious series, both cars were heavily reinforced with a roll cage for bridge jumping. Also there was so much neon lighting used in the cars that a technical specialist whose expertise was in shooting neon on film was kept on set at all times. This obviously cost a lot more and cut into the budget but it made the film authentic.

Nip Tuck Here Or Nip Tuck There?

Are you considering having any cosmetic surgery? If you are, will you be taking the procedure here in the UK or will you be trying to cut the costs and proceeding with surgery abroad?

There are many pros of travelling abroad to receive cosmetic surgery and this is often referred to as 'Cosmetic Surgery Holidays' or 'Facelift Holiday'. Many procedures are generally cheaper than the UK which makes it attractive to people and also that you may also get a slight holiday from it too.

Some of the main points to consider though are making sure you get a surgeon who has all the correct credentials and also that the surgeon is registered with the appropriate governing association to carry out the procedure.

Make sure the surgeon is certified and don't be afraid to ask, as professional and reputable surgeons would not be offended by you asking.

A language barrier can be one of the main downfalls of surgery abroad and trying to get an English speaking surgeon should be a priority.

Try and speak to other patients that have used this surgeon. There are forums on the internet for everything these days so I'm sure this information is available in review format somewhere.

It is easy to get carried away with the idea of travelling abroad to receive cosmetic surgery but there can also be some drawbacks. Some of these drawbacks can include choosing the right surgeon as previously mentioned; when abroad there is no way of finding out is the surgeon has any disciplinary action taken against them which is a worrying thought in itself.

Some other factors to take down would be to also consider where you will be taken for rest post operation. Will there be a good aftercare service straight after? Will you be looked after appropriately? Is there an aftercare programme on returning to the UK? As you will be aware, you will be laid up for up to three weeks depending on what surgery you are taking, so be careful in looking into aftercare.

Don't always go for the cheaper option as the cheapest is usually not the best and when you are buying something such as cosmetic surgery always look after number one and don't be swayed by price.

Always do your homework and look into every little factor before choosing this option. In many cases, the surgery is often cheaper abroad especially in Eastern European countries, but should the aftercare not be suitable it could end up costing you a lot more to travel too and from that particular country should there be any complications, in these cases the cheaper option would be to stay in the UK to take the surgery.

One of the leading places in Europe to proceed with cosmetic surgery is Spain, and the number one place in Spain is the south. You can make savings of up to thirty per cent on procedures with the majority of the surgeons speaking English; also they are all monitored under strict rules and are certified professionals. You will also find that many cosmetic surgeons in Spain are registered with the General Medical Council in the UK however, be sure to still check these out.

If you are considering any procedures then probably the best place to go to save money, but still receive excellent service and professional surgery would be Spain. Why not try and rid some of the nerves if you are a bit anxious by booking one of the many holidays to Costa Almeria or even Costa del Sol on the south coast of Spain, that are available from nearly every airport in the UK. This is sure to help you feel a little more at ease if you incorporate a holiday with your treatment.

When And Why To Watch Hindi Movies Online

Watching online is a great way to see some movies that otherwise don't reach your cinema. This is for example if you live in European country that doesn't have such an impact from Indian culture to show Bollywood films in the movies. Watching Hindi movies online helps if for some reason you are connected to India: maybe your family is from there or you have some great friends in India or you just happen to be a fan of some Bollywood actress. It could also be that you are a businessman that is making some great deals with Indian colleagues. In this case every little bite of social information will help you in getting closer to do you business well. So I recommend for sure to take that tome and watch Hindi movies online. It will pay you off.

The problem could be that if you are not so connected to India or Indian cinema before, you wouldn't know where to start - which movies to watch. The list is huge and more and more movies are being released almost every day.

First of all you should know which places you are going to visit in India and try to find out what is the nationality of you business partner in India. There are lot of different cultures and languages in this country and movies are also specific to each community. If you go to Kolkata and you partner is a Bengali then I recommend watching some Bangla movie. But if you are about to travel to Kerala and meet Malayalam community then try watching Malayalam movies.

The Closest Thing We Have to a New James Bond Movie

Today is International Women's Day--an event described on the official site as "a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future"--and what better way to celebrate the empowerment of womankind than with a short video in which Dame Judi Dench delivers a monologue about gender inequality while James Bond solemnly wears drag? There are probably infinite better ways--many of which would not play out like a dramatic stage adaptation of Big Momma's House--but that's the one Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, Nowhere Boy director Sam Taylor-Wood, and Kick-Ass screenwriter Jane Goldman decided to make, so that's what we've got.
Enjoy Daniel Craig in what I guess is a call to reappropriate "Octopussy":
I am all for equality, but what the hell was that? Not since Madea has cross-dressing so confusingly blurred the line between outrageous comedy and serious social issues.

New Action Movie Due For Release

There's a new Australian movie released called Tomorrow When The War Began. It is based on the first in a series of seven books by popular Australian author John Marsden. Tomorrow When The War Began movie is based on a story of seven teens who go on a camping trip for a week and return to find the country has been invaded by a foreign enemy force.

After finding their homes abandoned and their families held captive in the town's showground, they decide to work together against the enemy in true guerrilla style. They really have to step up and commit acts foreign to a normal teenager but actions that are necessary in order to save themselves and to try to stop the enemy force. It's often a me or them scenario at times.

It's a frightening situation they find themselves in - to come home to abandoned homes and their animals dying from starvation and dehydration; trying to find out what has happened to their families; being chased by enemy soldiers; one of their homes being blown up in front of their eyes; hiding out and trying to get rations to help them survive the ordeal.

The teens come up with ingenious plans to try and stop the enemy forces and show great courage and initiative in carrying out their plans. This is an action and adventure story of teenagers pushed to their limits and fighting for the freedom of their town and their families.

They can't overcome the enemy on their own but they can certainly slow them down with the brilliant idea they form to blow up the main highway into their town. What they have to do in order to carry out their plan is filled with danger and the teens themselves are frightened out of their minds but they are not going down without a fight.

The Tomorrow When The War Began movie is produced to appeal to a teen audience but this coming of age story is sure to appeal to audiences both young and old alike. Many young people have enjoyed reading the book that the movie is based on - over two million copies of the book sold in Australia and New Zealand alone - so the movie should prove just as popular.

'Iron Man 3' Will Sort of Be a Tom Clancy Thriller, Not Guys in Metal Suits Fighting Each Other

We've known for a few weeks now that Shane Black would be directing Iron Man 3, but the question had remained if Black--better known for his action-comedy screenwriting than his directing prowess--would be doing the script, and if said script would involve two guys in iron suits clanging each other up real good. Well, at the Omaha Film Festival this weekend, Black was a panelist, and he reportedly answered these very questions and more.

Firstly, according to this AICN report, yes, he's writing--yay!--and Robert Downey Jr. will be helping with the story. So expect all the wit and excitement you usually get from Black, plus whatever you think RDJ would most likely contribute. Jail anecdotes, drug stories, Chaplin remembrances, etc.

Second, Iron Man 3 will not involve "two men in iron suits fighting each other." And from the sounds of it, it also won't involve a man in an iron suit fighting a giant Chinese dragon guy, so sorry to anyone hoping for a Fin Fang Foom film. Instead, Black said, the film will be more real-world--except, you know, with a rich guy in a super-powered mechanical suit--and more in the vein of a Tom Clancy thriller. This movie's X-Box game is going to be so good, man.

As far as how these real-world villains will connect to The Avengers and the worlds of Thor and Captain America, they apparently won't. As expected, his film won't come together until after Joss Whedon's Avengers, and Marvel reportedly plans to return to only single-character, self-contained stories after the release of that film--which I guess is something they thought would be fun to say until they inevitably announce The Avengers 2 and a Hulk/Thor road comedy.

Anyway, so that's where we are with that. And, on an unrelated note, I'm on partial vacation this week, so apologies for any and all exceptional shoddiness.

Getting 'Blade Runner' Prequels, Sequels

You're Getting 'Blade Runner' Prequels, Sequels

The sci-fi classic thought untouchable by everyone except the asshole who tried to write a sequel a couple years ago is about to get sent through Hollywood's franchise-making machine. According to an official release, Alcon Entertainment co-founders Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove are in final talks to acquire the rights to make as many prequels and sequels to Blade Runner as their idiot hearts desire. Oof.

The deal specifically excludes rights to remake the original--if that does anything to reassure you--but does cover film, television, and "ancillary franchise rights," all of which Johnson and Kosove plan to exploit to the fullest, jointly saying in a statement:
"This is a major acquisition for our company, and a personal favorite film for both of us. We recognize the responsibility we have to do justice to the memory of the original with any prequel or sequel we produce. We have long-term goals for the franchise, and are exploring multi-platform concepts, not just limiting ourselves to one medium only.
Funny, Blade Runner is a personal favorite film for me, too, yet I never once thought that I should explore the events leading to it through online webisodes. But maybe they have reasons! Let's see what enlightening remarks they had to add from the set of their Queen Latifah comedy Joyful Noise...
"The 'Blade Runner' lore is kind of irresistible," Alcon co-founder Andrew Kosove told 24 Frames from Atlanta, where he and Johnson are on the set of their Queen Latifah comedy "Joyful Noise." "And the extraordinary pace of technological advancement since the movie came out means that there are a lot of opportunities to do something fresh." The original was set in 2019, a year that seemed very far away in 1982 but that seems pretty close now. A prequel wouldn't allow for a setting too many years beyond our own. (The producers say they're not concerned because technology changes quickly and anyway, Johnson says, this would be set in an alternative universe.)
So, an alternate universe in which adding a CGI-riddled backstory to a Harrison Ford-starring sci-fi classic still sounds like a reasonable idea? GOTCHA!
An exception to the accepted idea to never make a Blade Runner prequel/sequel, though, might make sense if director Ridley Scott were willing to return (even if he would end up shoving Russell Crowe in the lead). Scott is in the midst of revisiting the world of Alien, so would he be up for a trip back to Blade Running?
"We haven't met Ridley," Kosove said. "but the thought of re-engaging with his artistic vision is very exciting, and [him directing] is something we think would be wonderful."
Haven't bothered talking to him yet. Why would they? They don't need the man who shaped the gritty future that's made the original an enduring masterpiece. The producers of the Queen Latifah comedy Joyful Noise have a handle on this! Besides, everyone knows that if Ridley Scott is going to do any sequel to Blade Runner, he's going to make it a Monopoly movie.

New York CSI TV Series

New York CSI TV Series - Is it a Family?

Over the years, like many of us I have watched a lot of TV. Lately I have thought about what makes a good TV series. What was the common thread that made me go back and continue to watch a series, week after week? Just what was it that made me a fan?

The Original Concept
The original concept of a series is very helpful in attracting attention to the program. The many crime scene investigative series that are now on TV have been highly rated since their debuts. This is probably because viewers want to see crimes solved, period. They want to see the guilty put behind bars and the key thrown away. And ever since the beginning of using DNA as evidence about twenty years ago, the whole field of forensic science has produced irrefutable evidence which has been incredibly powerful in finding the guilty and convicting them.

Watching these CSIs (crime scene investigators) collect evidence, study it and finally find and arrest the guilty captures a lot of interest. But will this by itself keep the series going and keep the fans happy?

Characters
The series must have living, breathing, caring characters. The characters have to be at least a little bigger than life and have to be unique. They have to have problems just like the rest of us. Some have unresolvable problems. They suffer from the loss of a father or their wife or husband. Or are orphans trying to make their way always thinking about what might have been. We sympathize and sometimes even empathize with them.

Many TV series have had their heroes or heroines going about in there lives being productive, but always on their minds are the things that could have been. If dad or mom had lived. Or if my wife was still here, etc.

Good characterization is helpful, but if a series makes the next step it prolongs its life.

The Family
Thinking about it further, it is more than just the characters and their problems. It finally came to me one day - it is the 'family'. Does the cast create a family? Is there love or a special caring between the characters? If there is no caring then the series is probably doomed. There has to be love for human interest. Family adds that extra touch.

New York CSI
When I watch New York CSI episodes, I see characters who definitely have their problems. The lead detective Mac Taylor is a workaholic. Maybe this is because he loved his wife so dearly and she died in the Trade Towers on 9/11. Or is it that he is an ex marine officer and has that stick-to-it-ness that good marines always take with them when they leave the Corps?

The idea of family is taken one step further by Mac. He acts a lot like the good father of his CSIs. He has a steady hand and is very wise like a father who has gathered a lot of smarts over the years and uses them to guide the younger ones he is raising.

Stella Bonasera the number two detective, is like the mother of the CSIs. She is strong, wise, and cares for Mac almost like a wife. She does at times go astray (do her own unauthorized investigations) in doing things that Mac would not approve of, but in the end it makes her a little bigger than life and also makes for an interesting plot.

Danny Messer is a CSI and like the errant son that Mac is always trying to guide along, he nevertheless seems to end up getting into problems because Danny won't listen to the shrewd advice that comes his way.
Lindsay Monroe a CSI is like a close daughter to Mac. She listens to him, but is fully capable on her own of doing the tasks assigned to her.

These four characters are the central, closely-knit family. There are three or four more characters who are more like cousins and assist Mac and his crime team.

Mac watches over all of the members of his team and cares for their welfare. They have the greatest respect for him. The end result is a program that captures the hearts of its fans who keep coming back to see how the 'family' reacts to the next set of crimes it has to solve. So the next time you watch NY CSI see if you agree with these observations.
