Today is International Women's Day--an event described on the official site as "a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future"--and what better way to celebrate the empowerment of womankind than with a short video in which Dame Judi Dench delivers a monologue about gender inequality while James Bond solemnly wears drag? There are probably infinite better ways--many of which would not play out like a dramatic stage adaptation of Big Momma's House--but that's the one Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, Nowhere Boy director Sam Taylor-Wood, and Kick-Ass screenwriter Jane Goldman decided to make, so that's what we've got.
Enjoy Daniel Craig in what I guess is a call to reappropriate "Octopussy":
I am all for equality, but what the hell was that? Not since Madea has cross-dressing so confusingly blurred the line between outrageous comedy and serious social issues.
